Prayer Sheet for October 25th, 2020

In peace, we pray to you:

Lord God our redeemer, who heard the cry of your people and sent your servant Moses to lead them out of slavery, free us from the tyranny of sin and death, and by the leading of your Spirit bring us to our promised land; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. AMEN.

Silence 

For all people maintaining the industries of this land, give them pride in their work, a just reward for their labour, and joy both in supplying the needs of others and in serving you their Saviour. For all people in their daily life and work; For our families, friends, and neighbours,  and for all those who are alone. 

For Okotoks and surrounding communities, for this nation of Canada to be under your care, that we may be a people at peace among ourselves and a blessing to other nations of the earth. We pray for our leaders at all levels of government, enable them to contribute to wise decisions for the general welfare, and thus serve you faithfully in our generation to the honour of your holy name and for the world; For all who work for justice, freedom, and peace. 

For the just and proper use of your creation; For the victims of hunger, fear, injustice, and oppression. 

For health care workers and scientists as we continue to face a global pandemic. For all who are in danger, sorrow, or any kind of trouble; For those who minister to the sick, the friendless, the needy, the unemployed and underemployed. 

For Justin the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Church in Wales and John the Archbishop of Wales & Bishop of Swansea & Brecon and all bishops. For our Companion Diocese of the Windward Islands; Leopold their Bishop and St. Mary, Bequia (bek-way) with Holy Cross, Paget Farm; St. Michael, Canouan, Mustique; and St. Matthias, Union Island Everton their archdeacon and Frank their assistant priest. For the peace and unity of the Church of God; For all who proclaim the gospel, and all who seek the truth. 

For Linda our Primate, Mark our National Indigenous Archbishop, Greg our Archbishop, For St. Aidan, Pekisko and Robert their honourary priest, St. Benedict, High River Sean their priest and Tracey their deacon, and St. Thomas, Dinton, Norbert and Haydn our priests and all other ministers in this parish and diocese; For all who serve God in his Church. 

For your Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen us, that we may give ourselves today in love and service to one another and to you. For our own needs and those of others. Silence. add your petitions, Hear us, Lord; For your mercy is great. 

We thank you, Lord, for all the blessings of this life.  add your thanksgivings. Yours is the morning and yours is the evening. Let Christ, the Sun of righteousness, shine for ever in our hearts and draw us to that light where you live in radiant glory. We exalt you, O God our king; And praise your name for ever and ever. 

We pray for all those who have died in the peace of Christ, and for those whose faith is known to you alone, that they may have a place in your eternal kingdom. Please add your petitions, Lord, let your loving kindness be upon them; Who put their trust in you. 

Almighty God, you have given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplications to you, and you have promised through your well-beloved Son that when two or three are gathered together you will hear their requests. Fulfil now our desires and petitions, as may be best for us, granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come eternal life; for you, Father, are good and loving, and we glorify you through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, in the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.
