Prayer Sheet For Second Sunday after Epiphany 17, 2021

Almighty God, your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ is the light of the world. May your people, illumined by your word and sacraments, shine with the radiance of his glory, that he may be known, worshipped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

By the good news of our salvation brought to Mary by the angel, hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

By the mystery of the Word made flesh, hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

By the birth in time of the timeless Son of God, hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

By the manifestation of the King of glory to the shepherds and magi, hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

By the submission of the maker of the world to Mary and Joseph of Nazareth, hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

By the baptism of the Son of God in the river Jordan, hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

Grant that the kingdoms of this world may become the kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

Help those working with the Coronavirus currently ravaging our world. Hear graciously the prayers we make for those affected by the virus globally. Grant healing to the sick, eternal life to the dead, and consolation to bereaved families. We pray for effective medicine to combat the sickness, hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

We pray for: Justin, our Prime Minister; Theresa our Chief Public Health Officer; Jason, our Premier; Deanna, our Chief Medical Officer; and, all government and health authorities, that they take appropriate steps for the good of the people, hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

We are confident that it is your will to hold both heaven and earth in a single peace. Let the design of your great love shine on the waste of our wraths and sorrows, and give peace to your Church, peace among nations, peace in our homes, and peace in our hearts, hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

We remember those who serve in your Church globally: Justin, the Archbishop of Canterbury; Linda, our Primate; Mark, our Indigenous Archbishop; the Anglican Church of Australia and Geoffrey their Primate; Leopold, Bishop of the Windward Islands and  St. James, Layou with St. Mary, Buccament, on St. Vincent and Justice their priest; and, all ordained clergy, hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

We remember Greg, our Archbishop; St. Luke, Calgary, Gordon their Incumbent with Keith and David assisting; St. Paul Dinka, Calgary, Lino their Incumbent with John assisting; and, all who minister in the diocese that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you, hear us, O Lord.

We pray for the people of this Parish and those you have called to serve here; Norbert our Incumbent with Haydn assisting; Andy, Bernard, Dave and Sean, who serve as the Corporation; and, all other ministers. Increase in us your gifts of grace and make us all fruitful in good works,  hear us, O Lord.

Lord, grant us peace.

Draw your Church together, O Lord, into one great company of disciples, together following our Lord Jesus Christ into every walk of life, together serving him in his mission to the world, and together witnessing to his love on every continent and island. We ask this in his name and for his sake. AMEN.
