Prayer Sheet for March 21, 2021

With confidence and trust let us pray to the Lord, saying, “Lord, have mercy.”

Most merciful God, by the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ, you created humanity anew. May the power of his victorious cross transform those who turn in faith to him, let us pray to the Lord, saying, “Lord, have mercy.”

For the one holy catholic and apostolic Church throughout the world, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

We join the Church of England, Justin, the Archbishop of Canterbury and Stephen the Archbishop of York in a prayer for repentance. We have sinned presumptuously against the clearest light and dearest love; always have we sinned, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

You have shown mercy to us, but the better you have been to us, the worse we have been to you.  You have loaded us with your mercies, and we have wearied you with our sins.  When we look into ourselves, oh, the poison of our natures! We pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

By our spiritual leprosy we infect our holy things. Our prayers need pardon and our tears need the blood of sprinkling to wash them, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

We confess we are untuned and unstrung for every holy action; we are never out of tune to sin but always out of tune to pray.  We give the world our main affections and our strong desires, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

There is not that reverence, nor that devotion, nor that activeness of faith that there should be, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

Oh, humble us for our unkindness, and for Christ’s sake blot out our transgressions; they are more than we can number, but not more than you can pardon,” we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

For the missio of the church one holy catholic and apostolic Church throughout the world, the Diocese of the Windward Islands, Leopold their Bishop, Grace Church, Riviere Doree, with St. Paul and Christ-the- King, on St. Lucia and Eleanor their priest; Linda, our Primate; Mark, our Indigenous Archbishop; and, all ordained ministers, that in faithful witness it may preach the gospel to the ends of the earth, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

For Greg, our Archbishop; St. Leonard-on-the-Hill, Red Deer, Chris their priest with Barb and Ethel assisting and St. George, Harmattan and their lay leaders; and, all who minister in the diocese that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

For the people of this Parish and those you have called to serve here; Norbert and Haydn our priests; Wayne?, Bernard, Dave and Sean, who serve as the Corporation; and, all other ministers. Increase in us your gifts of grace and make us all fruitful in good works, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

For peace in the world, that a spirit of respect and reconciliation may grow among nations and peoples, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

For the poor, the persecuted, the sick, and all who suffer; for refugees, prisoners, and all in danger; that they may be relieved and protected, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

For all whom we have injured or offended, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

For grace to amend our lives and to further the reign of God, we pray to you, Lord.

Lord, have mercy.

Almighty God, you have given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplications to you, and you have promised through your well-beloved Son that when two or three are gathered together you will hear their requests. Fulfil now our desires and petitions, as may be best for us, granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come eternal life; for you, Father, are good and loving, and we glorify you through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, in the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen
