    Prayer for Pentecost

Let us pray to God the Holy Spirit, saying, “Come, Holy Spirit, come.”

Come Holy Spirit, fill us with the joy of your healing and life-giving breathe.

    Come, Holy Spirit, come.

Come Holy Spirit, that the scattered, virtual, isolated, and persecuted church may find fresh strength in coming of your Spirit.

    Come, Holy Spirit, come.

Come Holy Spirit, to those who serve your church globally, particularly: Justin, the Archbishop of Canterbury; Linda, our Primate; Mark, our Indigenious Archbishop, Gregory, our Archbishop; Leopold, Bishop of our Companion Diocese of the Windward Islands.

Come, Holy Spirit, come.

Come Holy Spirit, to your people in the Parish of St. Peter, Okotoks and those you have called to serve here, particularly; Norbert, our Incumbent; Haydn and Martyn our assistant priests; and Andy, Bernard, Dave and Sean who serve as the Corporation, let us pray to the Lord.

Come, Holy Spirit, come.

Come, Holy Spirit, creator, and renew the face of the earth.

Come, Holy Spirit, come.

Come, Holy Spirit, counsellor, and touch our lips that we may proclaim your word.

Come, Holy Spirit, come.

Come, Holy Spirit, power from on high: make us agents of peace and ministers of wholeness.

Come, Holy Spirit, come.

Come, Holy Spirit, breath of God, give life to the dry bones of this exiled age, and make us a living people, holy and free.

Come, Holy Spirit, come.

Come, Holy Spirit, wisdom and truth: strengthen us in the risk of faith.

Come, Holy Spirit, come.

We praise and thank you, O God our Father, through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Through him you have enlightened us by revealing the light that never fades, for dark death has been destroyed and radiant life is everywhere restored. What was promised is fulfilled: we have been joined to God, through renewed life in the Spirit of the risen Lord. Glory and praise to you, our Father, through Jesus your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Spirit, in the kingdom of light eternal, for ever and ever. Amen.
