Prayers of the People
Merciful Lord, we pray for all who call themselves Christians: that we may become a royal priesthood, a holy nation, to the praise of Christ Jesus our Saviour.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for Justin, the Archbishop of Canterbury; Eglise Anglicane du Rwanda with Laurent, their primate; Linda, our Primate; and Chris, our National Indigenous Archbishop, and for all bishops and other ministers: that they may remain faithful to their calling and rightly proclaim the word of truth.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for the people of the Diocese of the Windward Islands, Leopold their Bishop, Holy Trinity, Castries with St. Mary, La Caye, on St. Lucia with Christian their priest and for the Mother’s Union Diocesan President – Mrs. Hermione St. Bernard, that your people may lead quiet and peaceable lives.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for Charles our King, for the leaders of the nations, Mark, our Prime Minister, Danielle our Premier, and all in authority: that your people may lead quiet and peaceable lives.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for the people of our diocese: Greg, our Archbishop; the Parish of St. Andrew, Calgary with John and Joan their priests, and for the Diocesan First Nations Ministries, that they may remain faithful to their calling and rightly proclaim the word of truth.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for Okotoks and surrounding communities and those who live there, the poor and the rich, the elderly and the young, men and women: that you will show your goodwill to all.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for the people of this Parish; Norbert and Haydn, our priests; Bernard and Rob, our wardens, members of Parish Council, and for members of our parish: Terence, Lillian, and Gail. We are all called to serve you O Lord, guard and direct us in the way of unity, service, and praise.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for the victims of our society and those who minister to them: that you will be their help and defence.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We give thanks for the vows of love and commitment Norbert & Teresa and Clayton & Gina made to you and to each other in marriage. We pray for your continued blessing on them. May we learn from their joys and sorrows, and discover new riches in our life together in you, let us pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We give thanks for all the saints who have found favour in your sight from earliest times, prophets, apostles, martyrs, and those whose names are known to you alone: and we pray that we too may be counted among your faithful witnesses.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Gracious God, you have heard the prayers of your faithful people; you know our needs before we ask, and our ignorance in asking. Grant our requests as may be best for us. This we ask in the name of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Collect
Almighty God, you sent your Holy Spirit to be the life and light of your Church. Open our hearts to the riches of your grace, that we may bring forth the fruit of the Spirit in love, joy, and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
