Prayer for the week October 17, 2021

Most glorious God, in Jesus you call your people to true humility and servanthood. Grant to us the boldness to desire a place in your kingdom, the courage to drink the cup of suffering, and the grace to find in service the glory you promise

Let us pray for the peace of the world: particularly remembering Justin, Archbishop of Canterbury;  The Church in the Province of the West Indies with Howard their Primate; Linda, our Primate; and Mark, our National Indigenous Archbishop, that they may remain faithful to their calling and rightly proclaim the word of truth.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for Canada, and especially for Queen Elizabeth, Mary, the Governor General, Justin, the Prime Minister, Jason our Premier, and all in authority: the Lord help them to serve this people according to his holy will.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for children and young people: the Lord guide their growth and development.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for those working with the Coronavirus that is continuing to ravage our world. Hear graciously the prayers we make for those affected by the virus globally. Grant healing to the sick, eternal life to the dead, and consolation to bereaved families. We pray for effective medicine and vaccines to combat this sickness,

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for the sick: _______ the Lord deliver them and keep them in his love.

Let us pray for all who are condemned to exile, prison, harsh treatment, or hard labour, for the sake of justice and truth: the Lord support them and keep them steadfast.

Let us pray for the people of our diocese: Greg, our Archbishop; the Parish of St. Aidan and St. Chad, Cowly with  St. John, Pincher Creek and Doug and Betty their priests, that they may remain faithful to their calling and rightly proclaim the word of truth.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for the people of our Parish, for Norbert our Incumbent; Bernard, Dave, and Wayne our Wardens, and members of Parish Council, O Lord, guard and direct your Church in the way of unity, service, and praise.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us give thanks to you for Tony and Bernard whose birthday we celebrate this week. May they ever grow in your faith, hope, and love, let us pray to the Lord.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us remember with thanksgiving the vows of love and commitment ______________ made to you and to each other in marriage. We pray for your continued blessing on them. May we learn from their joys and sorrows, and discover new riches in our life together in you, let us pray to the Lord.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us remember the prophets, apostles, martyrs, and all who have borne witness to the gospel: the Lord direct our lives in the same spirit of service and sacrifice.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Living God, receive all we offer you this day. Grant that hearing your word and responding to your Spirit, we may share in your divine life. We praise and thank you, O God our Father, through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Through him you have enlightened us by revealing the light that never fades, for dark death has been destroyed and radiant life is everywhere restored. What was promised is fulfilled: we have been joined to God, through renewed life in the Spirit of the risen Lord. Glory and praise to you, our Father, through Jesus your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Spirit, in the kingdom of light eternal, for ever and ever. Amen.
