Prayer for the Week of June 20, 2021

Creator and Redeemer, as we approach you in prayer, make us walk in beauty and balance, make us open our hearts and minds, make us speak the truth. We pray first for your Community, the Church, The Body of Christ. We pray for all our relatives in the circle of life throughout all Creation; for those chosen to be our leaders and teachers.

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

We pray for peace, remembering Justin, the Archbishop of Canterbury; the people of The Church of North India and Prem their moderator; Linda, our Primate; and Mark, our National Indigenous Archbishop, that they may remain faithful to their calling and rightly proclaim the word of truth. We ask that they:
Teach us and show us the way.

We pray for Canada, especially for Queen Elizabeth; Justin, the Prime Minister; Perry, the National Chief; Jason, the Premier; the Chiefs of Treaty 7, Lawrence, the President of Metis Region 3; and, all in authority: the Lord help them to serve this people according to his holy will. We ask that they:
Teach us and show us the way.

We pray for the people of the Diocese of the Windward Islands, Leopold their Bishop, the people of Grace Church, Riviere Doree with St. Paul and Christ-the-King and Eleanor their priest that your people may lead quiet and peaceable lives. We ask that they:
Teach us and show us the way.

We pray for the people of this diocese: Greg, our Archbishop; the people of St. Alban, Brooks and Casimir their priest; and, the diocesans Administration and Finance Committee, that they may remain faithful to their calling and rightly proclaim the word of truth. We ask that they:
Teach us and show us the way.

We pray for the people of this Parish, for Norbert and Haydn our Priests; Bernard, Dave, and Wayne our Wardens, and members of parish Council, O Lord, guard and direct your Church in the way of unity, service, and praise. We ask that they:
Teach us and show us the way.

We give thanks to you for_Carolyn M. and Val B._whose birthday we celebrate this week. May they ever grow in your faith, hope, and love, let us pray to the Lord.

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

We remember with thanksgiving the vows of love and commitment ________ made to you and to each other in marriage. We pray for your continued blessing on them. May we learn from their joys and sorrows, and discover new riches in our life together in you, let us pray to the Lord.

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

We pray for children and young people: Protect them Lord and guide their growth and development.

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

We pray that you would give us ears to hear the voice of lamentation in Kamloops, in Kitamaat, Old Crow, Fort McKay, Grassy Narrows, Chisasibi, Eskasoni and in hundreds of communities across Canada; mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers, generation after generation, their children were taken from them, never to return home.

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

Open our ears to the cry of those taken from the comfort and protection of their families, estranged from their people and cultural identity. We lift up those who were abused and remember those who never came home. We have shamefully failed them in this life, may they find honour and healing in your Kingdom.

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

We pray for our nation, as we are reminded of stories still untold, pain still unshared, responsibility still not taken. Teach us the lesson of your cross: that it is in opening ourselves to the pain of others, in the sharing of burdens in love, that we may find healing together.

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

We pray for the sick and all who mourn: _______, comfort and reveal your healing presence and keep them in your love.

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

We pray for health care workers and researchers working with Covid-19. Hear graciously the prayers we make for those affected by the virus. Grant healing to the sick, eternal life to the dead, and consolation to bereaved families. We pray for, effective medicine and vaccines to combat this sickness,

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

We pray for all who are condemned to exile, prison, harsh treatment, or hard labour, for the sake of justice and truth: the Lord support them and keep them steadfast.

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

We look to the earth, our Mother and home, with its beautiful depths, soaring heights and deep waters, its vitality and abundance of life, and together we ask that it
Teach us and show us the way.

We look to the mountains and tundra, the high green valleys and prairies filled with wild flowers, the snows, the summits of intense silence, and we ask that they:
Teach us and show us the way.

We look to the land which grows our food, the nurturing soil, the fertile fields, the abundant gardens and orchards, and we ask that they:
Teach us and show us the way.

We look to the forests, the great trees reaching strongly to the sky with earth in their roots and the heavens in their branches, the fir and the pine, the cedar and the maple, we ask them to:
Teach us and show us the way.

We look to the creatures of the fields and forests and the waters, our brothers and sisters the wolves and deer, the eagle and bear, the great whales and the fish. We ask them to:
Teach us and show us the way.

We look to all those who have lived on this earth, our ancestors and our friends, who dreamed the best for future generations, and upon whose lives our lives are built, and with thanksgiving, we call upon them to:
Teach us and show us the way.

Creator, you made the world and declared it to be good: the beauty of the trees, the softness of the air, the fragrance of the grass speaks to us; the summit of the mountains, the thunder of the sky, the rhythm of the waters speak to us; the faintness of the stars, the freshness of the morning, the dewdrops on the flower speak to us. But above all, our heart soars, for you speak to us in Jesus the Christ, in whose name we offer these prayers. Amen
