Prayer Sheet for October 4 2020

In peace, we pray to you, Lord God.

Almighty God, you have built your Church on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. Join us together in unity of spirit by their teaching, that we may become a holy temple, acceptable to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Silence

For all people in their daily life and work;

For our families, friends, and neighbours,  and for all those who are alone.

For Okotoks and surrounding communities, for this nation of Canada to be under your care, that we may be a people at peace among ourselves and a blessing to other nations of the earth. Help us elect trustworthy leaders, contribute to wise decisions for the general welfare, and thus serve you faithfully in our generation to the honour of your holy name and for the world;

For all who work for justice, freedom, and peace.

For the just and proper use of your creation;

For the victims of hunger, fear, injustice, and oppression.

For all who are in danger, sorrow, or any kind of trouble;

For those who minister to the sick, the friendless, and the needy.

For Justin, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Anglican Church of Tanzania, Maimbo, Archbishop of Tanzania & Bishop of Tanga, Leopold , Bishop of the Windward Islands, and the Cathedral Church of St. George  with Transfiguration, The Ascension and Holy Redeemer and Samuel their Dean.

For all who serve God in his Church around the world.

For Linda our Primate, Mark our National Indigenous Archbishop, Greg our Archbishop, and all bishops, St. Cyprian, Brocket, St. Paul & St. Thomas, Cardston, The National House of Bishops, and all priests and ministers. For the peace and unity of the Church of God;

For all who proclaim the gospel, and all who seek the truth in Canada.

For Norbert and Haydn our priests and all who minister in this parish;

For all who serve God in his Church in this parish.

For our own needs and those of others.

Silence. The people may add their own petitions.

Hear us, Lord;

For your mercy is great.

We thank you, Lord, for all the blessings of this life.

Please add your thanksgivings, silently or vervbally.

We will exalt you, O God our king;

And praise your name for ever and ever.

We pray for all those who have died in the peace of Christ, and for those whose faith is known to you alone, that they may have a place in your eternal kingdom.

Please add your petitions, silently or vervbally.

Lord, let your loving kindness be upon them;

Who put their trust in you.

Almighty God, you have given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplications to you, and you have promised through your well-beloved Son that when two or three are gathered together you will hear their requests. Fulfil now our desires and petitions, as may be best for us, granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come eternal life; for you, Father, are good and loving, and we glorify you through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, in the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.
