Prayer Sheet for November 15th, 2020

Almighty God, you sent your Son Jesus Christ to be the light of the world. Free us from all that darkens and ensnares us, and bring us to eternal light and joy; through the power of him who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. AMEN.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for children as they are attending school, and for young adults as they attend to their studies, seek employment and build relationships. We pray for their teachers, caregivers and parents as they seek to guide.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for all who are condemned to exile, prison, harsh treatment, or hard labour, for the sake of justice and truth: the Lord support them and keep them steadfast.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for the peace of the world: particularly remembering Justin, Archbishop of Canterbury; Dhiloraj the Bishop of Colombo, Keerthisiri the Bishop of Kurunegala and the church of Ceylon ; Linda, our Primate; and Mark, our National Indigenous Archbishop, that they may remain faithful to their calling and rightly proclaim the word of truth.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for the Diocese of the Windward Islands, Leopold their Bishop, St. Paul, Calliaqua (kal-ee-a-kwa) with St. John, Belair and Ashton their priest, that your people may lead quiet and peaceable lives.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for: Greg, Metropolitan of Rupert’s Land, and our Archbishop; the Parishes of Christ Church, Nanton and Rob and Gerald their priests, St. Aldhelm, Vulcan and Gordon their priest, and the Diocesan Council, that they may remain faithful to their calling and rightly proclaim the word of truth.

Lord, hear our prayer.

In our Parish we pray for Norbert, our Incumbent Priest and Haydn, our Honorary Assistant; and, Dave, Andy, Sean and Bernard our Wardens, O Lord, guard and direct your Church in the way of unity, service, and praise.

Lord, hear our prayer.

We remember the prophets, apostles, martyrs, and all who have borne witness to the gospel: the Lord direct our lives in the same spirit of service and sacrifice.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Living God, receive all we offer you this day. Grant that hearing your word and responding to your Spirit, we may share in your divine life. We praise and thank you, O God our Father, through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Through him you have enlightened us by revealing the light that never fades, for dark death has been destroyed and radiant life is everywhere restored. What was promised is fulfilled: we have been joined to God, through renewed life in the Spirit of the risen Lord. Glory and praise to you, our Father, through Jesus your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Spirit, in the kingdom of light eternal, for ever and ever. Amen.
